Karen Gorman was appointed Managing Director and Board Member of CLG in May 2016. An accomplished executive, she is known for her proven ability to create and implement strategies that positively impact business results. She is responsible for all facets of the CLG business.
Karen has been a key member of the CLG Partner Group since September 2005 when she joined the firm. She was promoted to Senior Partner in October 2010. In March 2013, she joined the Management Team when she was appointed Chief People Officer, simultaneously retaining her Senior Partner role to remain active in the market. Her extensive knowledge of the organization, its services, clients, people and culture provide an outstanding foundation for her leadership of CLG.
Through her many years of consulting work, Karen’s expertise includes business strategy design and implementation, organizational restructuring and role alignment, training strategy design and implementation, efficiency / effectiveness assessment, leadership coaching and development, change management, organizational communication, crisis management and talent management.
Her experience spans many industries including oil, gas and chemical, mining and metals, engineering and construction, pharmaceutical and health care. Her consulting accomplishments include helping clients:
- Achieve desired synergies and sustainable results from mergers and acquisitions,
- Develop and implement an innovative business strategy that resulted in $9 billion growth over 10 years
- Move from bottom to top-quartile performance in two years on key performance metrics including financial, operational, safety and environment, and employee engagement
Prior to joining CLG, Karen was East Region leader and principal for Buck Consultants’ Organizational Effectiveness and Human Resources Management practice and president of her own consulting firm, Gorman and Associates. She was also the Southeast communications practice leader for the professional services firm formerly known as Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson). Earlier in her career, she held corporate leadership roles with PECO Energy Company, Public Service Electric and Gas, and several hospital systems.
Karen earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and consumer economics from the University of Delaware.
